
Rob Cimitile was born in Norwalk Connecticut in 1982. He earned his
B.S. in Music Industry at Northeastern University in 2003 and is
currently enrolled in his first year of graduate composition studies
at The Hartt School of Music in Hartford, Connecticut.
As
a guitarist, Rob has played in a variety of ensembles including
Rock, Jazz, and Experimental throughout Boston,MA, Connecticut and
New York. He currently performs with the Connecticut based rock
group Lumin-R and Impromptu; an experimental jazz trio from Boston.
Venues he has played include Arlene’s Grocery and ACME Underground
in New York, Toad’s Place in New Haven, and The Paradise and The
Middle East in Boston. In addition, Rob has performed guitar in The
Singin’ Cowboy, a new musical by Greg Opelka and was Assistant Music
Director for the UMASS Dartmouth Theater Company’s production of
Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Evita, in which he performed guitar and
conducted the orchestra.
As
a recording artist, Rob played on the Flash in Blue album Jeanie’s
Bloomin’, recorded at Hummel Vision in Boston and produced by Joel
Simches. He has co-written and performed guitar for Joe Hernandez at
Innovative Media in New York.
Recently, Rob has had a composition recorded by the Tin Hat Trio. He
plans to play on a Hip-Hop record due for release this August by Low
Budget Productions that will feature KRS-1.
